About ProRestoration Services

ProRestoration Services grew out of a straightforward observation: when a pipe bursts at 2 a.m. or a kitchen fire leaves a family standing in the driveway, the contractor who shows up matters as much as the equipment they bring. The company was built in Bakersfield, CA around that premise — do the technical work correctly, handle the insurance paperwork honestly, and treat people who are having a genuinely terrible day with some basic decency.

What we do

On any given day, the work looks like this: a call comes in about standing water under laminate flooring in a Stockdale home, or smoke odor locked into the drywall of a commercial kitchen on Rosedale Highway, or a landlord in Oildale who just found active mold growth behind a bathroom wall. We respond around the clock — nights, weekends, holidays — because water doesn’t wait for business hours and neither do the secondary problems it causes. Mold can begin colonizing damp materials within 24 to 48 hours of a moisture event; the gap between a fast response and a delayed one is often the difference between drying out a subfloor and replacing it.

A significant part of the job is navigating insurance. Most homeowners have never filed a property damage claim before, and the process — moisture mapping documentation, itemized scopes of work, adjuster coordination — is unfamiliar territory. We handle that documentation from the first inspection forward so the claim moves without the homeowner having to chase it.

Our certifications and licensure

The IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification) sets the technical standards the restoration industry uses — drying protocols, contamination categories, structural drying timelines. Being an IICRC Certified firm means the work is performed to those published standards, not to whatever a technician happens to remember from a previous job.

The EPA Lead-Safe Certified Firm designation is a federal requirement, not a marketing badge. Any renovation or remediation work that disturbs painted surfaces in homes built before 1978 must be performed by an EPA-certified firm under the Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) rule. Bakersfield has a substantial inventory of older housing stock — neighborhoods like Oleander-Sunset and parts of East Bakersfield include homes from the 1940s through the 1970s — so this certification comes up regularly in real work.

ProRestoration Services holds a California Contractors State License Board (CSLB) license (#960566) and is accredited by the Better Business Bureau.

Where we work

The primary service area is Bakersfield and the surrounding communities of Kern County — including Shafter, Wasco, Delano, Tehachapi, Ridgecrest, and the unincorporated areas in between. The Central Valley climate brings its own set of conditions: summer heat that accelerates mold growth in poorly ventilated crawl spaces, occasional heavy rain events that overwhelm drainage in neighborhoods not designed for them, and dry winds that carry wildfire smoke into structures far from the fire line. We know the region because we work in it every week.
